TOM MISCH | ADVENTURES

Anya Bettoney

Throwback to August 2018 and Rhys booked tickets for us to go and see Tom Misch as an early one year present. The concert was in November, so this meant playing him on repeat for the next 4 months (and after, yay!). Rhys introduced me to Tom Misch’s music right at the start of our relationship and it is honestly life changing, if you don’t know who he is you NEED to check him out! He also has a pretty cool Instagram and is friends with some of our other favourite artists like Loyle Carner and Barney Artist etc.

Before we went to see him we did do a little browsing around Birmingham as it was coming up for christmas, however our main task was to find food. We ended up back at the station however upstairs they have a food and shopping court. I’m a real lover of Mac and Cheese and when we saw there was a new place open we knew we had to try it. We went to Holy Moly Macaroni. HOLY MOLY was my food hot!! I had the Vegan Mac and (no)Cheese ‘The Real MacCoy’ and it was very tasty… but so so hot!

The first act was Yussef Dayes and I wasn’t a huge fan, it was a bit loud but it was still great seeing everyone enjoy him and he’s definitely not short of talent! I’ve only ever seen Paloma Faith and Joe Dolman in concert before. I’m still a bit of a newbie at these kinda events and fear the ‘mosh’ areas, but we managed to get seats (and pretty good ones). We swayed and bopped there for the rest of the night.

It was such an amazing night and in Rhys’s (and many other people’s) words ‘what a groovy groovy man‘. Our next concert booked is George Ezra, but we definitely want to get to a few smaller gigs too!
