WEEK TWO: The Move

Anya Bettoney

Packing, packing and then unpacking! This week has focused a lot around boxes and bags and all the junk I have collected in my room. I packed up a box to go in my garage to collect at a later date but the rest was for me to take… It was a fun and easy process until I needed to fit it into my small car… and then into Rhys’s room… So I then went through most of the stuff again in a much stricter order.

I found my 35mm camera that was off my Gt.Nana from a few years ago that still has film in so I desperately want to try and use that up so I can take it to be developed to see if it still works!! The South West is so pretty so I’m being a lot more concious of taking photos when I can and appreciating the natural beauty!

By Tuesday I had picked up the cold my mum and Jason have been nursing the past few days which made the process a lot longer because it was like I was balancing a weight on my head and my nose was like a tap!! (I’m still sneezing now) I took for a more chilled approach to the week and with finishing work on Wednesday afternoon I was able to have a few days of going slow.

I did manage to have silly bath time with Jason before I left, which resulted in me being pretty soaked now he’s mastered the splash!

The drive to Rhys’s was okay… we had to go through a few flash floods which was horrible and we even got caught in some hail but apart from that and being stuck with a strange playlist on my phone that I couldn’t change whilst driving it was okay! We both had headaches when we got in but we unpacked everything on Friday, set up the box cubes and sorted everything out so we knew we could have a much needed weekend to rest without clutter being everywhere.

On Saturday we went to get Rhys’s much needed haircut and then to do some food shopping. I absolutely love writing lists and making meal plans, I think it makes everything much easier. We had cheese toasties for lunch and spent the evening just chilling out. I facetimed my sister and brother too for a couple of hours as I haven’t seen Maya in over a week.

And that brings us to today. We had a bit of a lie in since we still both don’t feel 100% but then Rhys’s mum offered to take us out shopping (I’m not sure Rhys was as keen but he still came along anyway). I got a top for my interview next week from Matalan and we looked around Curry’s at the HUGE TVs as well. I made avocado on crumpets with scrambled egg for lunch and it was yummy!

We’re going out for coffee this evening with Joe to sort out our plans for Amsterdam and general life stuff but I haven’t much planned for next week so it may be more of a favourites than a weekly diary like this week. I want to change it up a little each week anyway.

Until next time.
